Software Requirements
Before installing and using our custom program, ensure that you have the following software installed on your computer:
- R-Studio: This is an integrated development environment (IDE) for R, a programming language used for statistical computing and graphics. Our program leverages R-Studio for data processing and conversion tasks.
- Spreadsheet Software: You will also need software like Microsoft Excel or LibreOffice Calc to work with the templates used in the conversion process.
Download and Install R
Since R-Studio requires R to be installed first, follow these steps to download and install R based on your operating system:
Windows
- Go to the CRAN website.
- Click “Download R for Windows.”
- Click on “base” and then “Download R 4.x.x for Windows” (the latest version number will be displayed).
- After downloading, open the installer and follow the instructions to complete the installation.
macOS
- Go to the CRAN website.
- Click “Download R for macOS.”
- Select the
.pkgfile for the latest version of R and download it. - Open the
.pkgfile and follow the prompts to complete the installation.
Linux
- Go to the CRAN website.
- Click “Download R for Linux.”
- Follow the instructions specific to your Linux distribution to install R using your package manager.
Download and Install R-Studio
Once R is installed, you can proceed to install R-Studio:
- Visit the R-Studio download page.
- Under the “RStudio Desktop” section, click “Download.”
- Choose the version that matches your operating system (Windows, macOS, or Linux).
Windows
- Download the
.exeinstaller and run it. - Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation.
macOS
- Download the
.dmgfile and open it. - Drag the R-Studio icon into your Applications folder.
Linux
- Follow the instructions provided for your distribution to install R-Studio.
Spreadsheet Software Installation
You will need either Microsoft Excel or LibreOffice Calc to work with the templates provided in the conversion process.
Option 1: Microsoft Excel
Download and Install Microsoft Excel
Step 1: Purchase Microsoft Office
- Go to the Microsoft Office page.
- Choose either a subscription-based plan (Microsoft 365) or a one-time purchase (Office 2021), which includes Excel.
Step 2: Download and Install
- After purchasing, sign in to your Microsoft account.
- Go to the Office installation page.
- Click “Install” and follow the instructions to install Office on your computer.

Option 2: LibreOffice Calc
Download and Install LibreOffice Calc
LibreOffice Calc is a free, open-source alternative to Excel that offers similar functionality.
Step 1: Download LibreOffice
- Visit the LibreOffice download page.
- Click “Download” to get the installer for your operating system.
Step 2: Install LibreOffice
- Open the installer and follow the instructions to install LibreOffice on your computer.
- During installation, you can choose to install just LibreOffice Calc or the entire suite.
